Join us on Saturday, February 2, 9:00 am – 1:00 pm, to help clean the MPR, cafetorium, lunch area, Teacher’s Lounge, the Crest Room, basement, and Rooms 3, 4, 20 and more (yes, we have more to clean this year so we need even more people!). As in previous years, we will provide snacks, lunch and drinks to ensure that everyone has enough energy to clean, clean, clean! Of course, your kids are welcome to join you, and will be able to clean under your supervision or play in the playground, which will be supervised.
What will be different in 2013 are the prizes! The class that brings in the most parent volunteers will win a frozen yogurt party at Menchies on Montana! The class that brings in the second highest number of parent volunteers will receive gift cards to Beachy Cream Ice Cream! Double the winners, double the fun for sure!
By now, you have received the Education Foundation’s Dollar A Day annual appeal letter. If you haven’t already, please consider a gift of a dollar a day for each child, or $365 per student in your household, or whatever you can give. The goal is to raise $4 million by January 2014, and every January after that, to fund the District’s most critical needs. If everyone contributed $365 per student, we would meet that $4 million goal. Remember, a gift of a dollar a day, or whatever you can generously give, will make a tremendous difference in the lives of our children.
Giving is easy. You can donate online or mail your contribution using the remit envelope you received with the letter.
We strongly encourage you to take part in this campaign and to give as generously as possible.
Mrs. Tara Brown, Principal
Liz Patterson & Yi Ellis, Co-PTA Presidents
Katy Henrikson, Franklin SMMEF Liaison
We would like to thank Franklin Families who have already given generously to the Direct Investment Program this year (see list of families below). And if you haven’t given yet, why not consider giving your child a gift this holiday season that will have a major impact on their lives for the years to come? Give them the gift of an investment in their future and contribute to Franklin’s Direct Investment Program!
We would like to have 100% of families participating in the program this year, and show our kids we are deeply committed to their education. While we suggest an investment of $900 per child, whatever level you are comfortable investing is a greatly appreciated ($5, $10, etc). And our program is not limited to parents. Grandparents, aunts, uncles, friends ˆ participation by anyone invested in the future of our Franklin children is welcomed.

As Benjamin Franklin said, “An investment in knowledge pays the best interest.” The quality of education for all our children at Franklin is largely determined by our Franklin Families. By donating in your child‚s name to Franklin‚s Direct Investment program, you will be giving your child a gift that will last a lifetime.
