You are invited to attend an informative education panel organized by Franklin parent Elizabeth Kopple in conjunction with the local Wharton and UPenn alumni groups.
The event is at the Milken Institute (4th & Arizona) at 6:30 pm on Tuesday, February 19th. The cost of $10 will be donated to Animo Inglewood High School. There will be a wine and cheese reception following the discussion. Please RSVP as space is limited.
Public School Innovation Forum
Across Los Angeles, there is a movement to prepare students from low-income families for success in college and adulthood. Innovative groups have been working to close the “achievement gap” for low income students. They are having incredible success. Test scores have improved; high school graduation rates have jumped; college enrollment rates have dramatically increased.
Learn more about the amazing work of Green Dot Public Schools, Parent Revolution and Minds Matter. These nonprofits are using charter schools and volunteer programs to help students reach their full academic potential. Panelists will discuss their challenges and successes. They will also share some simple ways that you, the audience, can help improve public education in Los Angeles.
