Come Run! Come Walk! Support a local Charity!
On Sunday, May 4th, 2014, Upward Bound House will be presenting the 2nd annual ”Home Run for Kids” in Brentwood. The event is a 5k/10k Run/Walk and Kiddie K. It is open to the entire community, with all proceeds benefiting Upward Bound House – a Santa Monica based non-profit that works to end family homelessness by providing housing, supportive services and advocacy. Since 1997, Upward Bound House has helped over 800 families, including 1,600 children to get back into permanent housing.
The Home Run for Kids will be a morning of exercise, food, and fun for the whole family. Home Run for Kids is a great opportunity for kids and parents alike to work together to raise money to help solve family homelessness, a growing crisis across Los Angeles. Last year over a 1000 participants from 30 schools ran the race and, together with our sponsors, raised over $80,000.
We are hoping a large number of the Franklin Community will come out and run or walk! We have team Franklin- please join our team when you register and support a local charity! Wear a Franklin shirt! There are also prices for the winners!!!! Bikes from Helen’s cycles and scooters donated by Razor!!!!
