Hello Franklin Families:
My name is Kiera Piper, some of you know me as Kiki. I’m on the Student Green Committee and a member of Grades of Green’s Youth Corps. For Recycling Week, I have organized a Water Challenge because California is in a serious draught and my mom told me water rates are going up 70% over the next 5 years. We all need to use less water. You can download a PDF of the challenge in case you can’t find the one that will be sent home on Monday.
Please have your kids take the challenge from 1/26-2/1. Tally your score and turn the challenge in to the front office for a prize! Let’s see how many gallons of water Franklin can save!
Thanks for helping me,
Kiera Piper 3rd grader
P.S. The easiest way to take a five minute shower is: rinse, turn tap off, lather and rinse again. If your shower is slow to warm up, you can collect the cold water in a bucket and water a plant.
