Last week we invited Franklin students to join us this week in a library poetry event to create poems for possible inclusion in this year’s Young American Poetry Digest. The event has been postponed, due to the districtwide restrictions of extracurricular activities as a precaution against spread of illness.
We hope to reschedule it but in the meantime:
- Students are encouraged to work on their poems at home.
- The library will be open as usual during recess and students are welcome to visit and work on their poems.
- The deadline for submitting entries to Mr. Tse has been extended to Friday, March 10.
What is this about? Franklin students have been invited to submit poems for possible inclusion in this year’s Young American Poetry Digest. Any poetry format is encouraged, although haiku poems are this year’s focus. Poems must be 80 words or fewer. For more details and to access the permission form, see Young American Poetry Digest flyer & form. Please print at home or collect from the library.
