Transition and College Programs for Students with an IEP or 504, Mar. 21, 5:30-7:30 pm, Malibu Library

The Malibu Special Education Foundation Hosts an Evening of Possibilities for the Future Transition and College Programs for students with an IEP or 504. Light snacks and beverages will be served

FACT Family will do a presentation on their GAP Program: www.factfamily.org.

GAP PROGRAM: GAP staff provide academic support on campus at California State University, Northridge (CSUN), Los Angeles Mission College, Pierce College, Santa Monica College (SMC), and West Los Angeles College (WLAC). Gap staff are on site regularly to help students navigate campus resources, select and register for courses, as well as interface with professors, school counselors, tutors and other campus departments.

VOCATIONAL DEVELOPMENT: Gap engages in many partnerships in the community and aide with providing Salvation Army, Meals on Wheels, We Rock the Spectrum and more.  As young adults express interest in new fields, GAP works to find new opportunities that fit their goals.

MEET THE DIRECTOR AND REPRESENTATIVE OF EACH PROGRAM as well as Regional Center, Malibu; HS College Counselor, Santa Monica; HS College Counselor, Malibu; HS College Counselors; and parents and current GAP students

STRATEGIZE WITH THE TEAM HOW TO MAP OUT A PLAN FOR YOUR STUDENT TO PARTICIPATE NOW AND IN THE FUTURE.

“Tina and GAP were great at CSUN for me.  I am a junior with a 3.4 grade point average, in a fraternity and am majoring in TV Production.”  Danny Sills Malibu High School 2014
