Does your son love to explore the world? Come check out the Cub Scouts at the New Parent Orientation on Saturday, September 9, 4 pm on the Franklin South Lawn. The meeting should last an hour, childcare is provided, and all families interested in joining are welcome to stay afterwards for our Annual Movie Night at 6:30 pm on the lawn. Popcorn is free!
Cub Scout Pack 97 is open to all families from 1st through 5th grade. We are an awesome group of adults and kids intent on learning and having as much fun as possible. We’ve got big plans for this year, including camping at Camp Verdugo Oaks this fall and heading to Emerald Bay on Catalina Island in March. Pack meetings are monthly during the school year; den meetings are once or twice a month.
The goal of Cub Scouting is to have fun and learn at the same time. A Cub Scout gets satisfaction from meeting challenges, having friends, feeling good about himself, and feeling he is important to other people. Cub Scouts learn new things, discover and master new skills, gain self-confidence, and develop strong friendships. Cultivating a love and appreciation of the outdoors and outdoor activities are key elements. There is also an emphasis on values and character development.
Pack 97 has been based at Franklin for over 60 years, one of the oldest packs in our region! All adult volunteers are welcome, no experience necessary!
