As posted earlier, at our PTA meeting on Thursday (September 20th) we will be VOTING on whether the Franklin PTA will support Measure SMS, which will be presented to Santa Monica residents on the November 6th ballot and proposes to (through the issuance of $485 million of bonds) improve, repair, and modernize outdated Santa Monica classrooms, etc, and improve school safety systems. If the general membership votes to take a support position, we will then be VOTING on whether to approve a one-time expense of $5000 in order to financially assist the Measure SMS Campaign.
We will have a member of the School Board and a member of the Santa Monica-Malibu PTA Council present at our meeting to answer any questions you might have, but now all parents in the district can have an additional opportunity to learn more about this bond measure, thanks to the generosity of the Lincoln Middle School PTSA! Read on!
