Thank You for Making Franklin’s 2013 Online Auction a Huge Success!

The final numbers are in, and together we have raised $76,100 for Franklin Elementary School! (Gross revenues from Online Bids.)

Redemption Starts this Thursday!  Here are the dates/times and location to pick up your Goodies!

Thursday, February 28     2pm – 6:00pm
Friday, March 1                1pm – 4:00pm
Saturday, March 2           3pm – 5:00pm
Tuesday, March 5             8:45am – 11:30am
Wednesday, March 6        8:45am – 1:30pm

Online Auction Donation Deadline Extended to February 7th.

The Online Auction STILL Needs YOUR Help!
Thank you to all the Franklin families who have stepped up and brought in great donations for our upcoming Online Auction!
For those of you who have not yet brought in your ONE item, we have extended the deadline to Thursday, February 7th!  Please drop off your donations at the front office by then. Donation Forms, a list of popular item Categories, Party ideas and other helpful materials are available on the PTA Auction web page at https://franklinschoolpta.org/tag/auction/.
ALSO, we are still actively looking for Family Sponsors at all levels: $125 – $5,000.  Any sponsorship of $1,000 or more will be given free tickets to the Parents Party (in May).  Your generous donation will be acknowledged on the Online Auction website as well as in the Parents Party program.  Thank you to all the families who have already become Sponsors!  Please go to www.FranklinAuction.net to see the different Sponsorship levels and the current Sponsors.  Contact Ellen Genco at ellengenco@verizon.net with any Sponsorship questions.

Franklin 2014 Online Auction Needs You!

This year the Auction runs from February 12 – 23, 2014. We are asking that every Franklin family obtain at least ONE great item for our Auction.  Keep reading to learn how ….

Franklin’s Auction is the 2nd largest fundraiser of the year! Last year, our Online Auction raised over $87,000, and we need your participation to make this year’s Auction another success!  As you do your holiday shopping, please remember the Franklin Auction! It’s as simple as asking for a donation when you are shopping, dining at a restaurant, getting your hair cut, or taking your kids to lessons and winter camps.

Here’s how to get started:

  • Download a donation form or pick one up at the Franklin front office.
  • Check out our tips on how to easily ask for a donation
  • If you’d like to email your contacts for donations, download our sample solicitation letter and customize it.
  • You can also donate directly online and click on “Donate an Item”. Someone from our Auction Committee will follow up with you if necessary.

Please drop-off donations (with completed Donation Forms) as soon as possible at the Franklin front office.  We must receive all donations by January 31, 2014. THANK YOU!

Please help support Franklin & the 2013 Auction by becoming a Family Sponsor. Download the Family Sponsorships 2013 Form.  Sponsorship opportunities are available from $125-$5,000. Your generous donation will be acknowledged on the Online Auction website as well as in the Live Auction Program.

Any donation over $1,000 receives tickets to the Live Auction. Sponsorships are tax-deductible and directly benefit Franklin and our students.

Seeking Top Selling Auction Items!

Not sure what to donate? Here’s a list of top-selling items that have historically raised lots of money for Franklin!

Restaurants: This is our best selling category! Don’t be afraid to ask restaurants outside of Santa Monica as well. Beverly Hills, Culver City, West Hollywood, Downtown…nothing is off limits! This year, proceeds from the restaurant category will go to Santa Monica-Malibu Education Foundation to help fund crucial music, art, technology, classroom aides, and professional development for teachers as part of the district’s Vision for Student Success program.

Travel & Getaways: Do you own a home or condo in a fabulous location? We are looking for rental properties and other homes that can be offered at our Online or Live Auction (for Franklin families only if you wish)

Entertainment: We would love any set visits, signed DVDs, or swag from popular shows. We are also looking for concert tickets or tickets to any sporting events. We would also be thrilled to have VIP or back stage passes!

Health & Fitness: Don’t forget to ask your instructors or gym managers for donations! Gym memberships and free sessions always sell well!

Beauty & Spa: A donation for a haircut from your stylist, or a gift certificate to a spa. What Franklin parent doesn’t need some pampering?

Camps & Lessons: Please reach out and contact your camps and instructors! Participating in our Auction is a great way for them to gain new customers!

Food & Wine: This could be anything from a great case of wine, a donation from a specialty market, or a delicious delivery of your own homemade creation!

Professional Services: Think the car detailer, dry cleaner, landscaper, handy man, family photographer, accountant, interior designer…. The list goes on!

Parties: Don’t know what to donate? How about a party or a class! Some past donations have included: A Bollywood themed party, A Mexican fiesta party for 50, A book club party with a leading Author, A cooking class led by a Franklin parent, A special effects party at Zoic Studios, A tennis clinic for parents and kids…. Host a Party to Help Franklin School!

Franklin families — Please consider donating/hosting a party for Franklin parents or kids! It’s a great way to meet new people in the community while raising money for our School! In the past Parties generously hosted by Franklin families contributed over $21,000 to the Auction! Past adult parties have included group lunches/dinners, Cinco de Mayo and Bollywood parties and wine tastings. Kids parties have ranged from sports themed parties to art parties to cooking classes.
