The Farms Market offers Discount for Wine Donations

We are still in need of many wine donations to make our Wine Raffle at the Live Auction Party a success.  The Farms Market on Montana Avenue is offering a discount for all your wine donation purchases….

What to do with your wine after you purchase?  Drop off your donation to the home of   Gail Shapiro-Moore at 460 22nd Street (a box on the porch is out for collection if no one is home).  Or send an email to Liz Patterson at lizpz@yahoo.com to coordinate a pickup.

Live Auction Wine Raffle Needs Donations!!

LIVE AUCTION WINE RAFFLE – Please donate!
We will be holding our annual Wine Raffle at the Live Auction Party on May 4th.
Liz Patterson and Gail Shapiro are collecting the wines this year.  We would love for as many of you as possible to donate a bottle of wine.  We are asking for wines valued at $20 or more, with ratings of 90 or higher from Wine Spectator, Wine Advocate, or Wine Enthusiast (you may also donate a nice champagne, special liquor, etc.).  So please reach into your wine cellar, fridge, wine rack or visit the local stores and bring your donations directly to Liz or Gail.  Donations can be dropped off anytime to the Shapiro-Moore Home at 460 22nd Street (a collection box will be on the porch if no one is home).  Please email Liz with any questions at lizpz@yahoo.com .  We would appreciate receiving all donations no later than April 26th.  
The Wine Raffle is an assortment of 52+ bottles of great wine or spirits (donated by Franklin parents) which is raffled off as one big, impressive collection on the night of the event.  Each raffle ticket bought at the Live Auction Party sells for $100.  Each ticket is a card from a deck of cards.  This 52 card raffle makes an instant $5,200 for Franklin on the night of that event!

Shop for Our Schools Fundraiser 2/23 at Bloomingdale’s

Have shopping to do? WAIT! … for SATURDAY Feb. 23 from 12 to 7 pm, when Bloomie’s at Santa Monica Place will donate 10% of all your store-wide purchases to our schools. Get a leg up on those spring gifts: Mother’s, Father’s, Graduation days, birthdays! Or a belated Valentine’s Day treat at the spa.

NO RSVP required to shop for our schools all afternoon. RSVP IS required by 2/20 for the SMMEF special donor thank you event at 3 pm. Become a SMMEF donor at any level now at: www.smmef.org — or at the Bloomie’s SMMEF Redemption Desk before you shop. Anyone may participate from within our school distric and beyond; just remember to have purchases tracked.

Online Auction Donation Deadline Extended to February 7th.

The Online Auction STILL Needs YOUR Help!
Thank you to all the Franklin families who have stepped up and brought in great donations for our upcoming Online Auction!
For those of you who have not yet brought in your ONE item, we have extended the deadline to Thursday, February 7th!  Please drop off your donations at the front office by then. Donation Forms, a list of popular item Categories, Party ideas and other helpful materials are available on the PTA Auction web page at https://franklinschoolpta.org/tag/auction/.
ALSO, we are still actively looking for Family Sponsors at all levels: $125 – $5,000.  Any sponsorship of $1,000 or more will be given free tickets to the Parents Party (in May).  Your generous donation will be acknowledged on the Online Auction website as well as in the Parents Party program.  Thank you to all the families who have already become Sponsors!  Please go to www.FranklinAuction.net to see the different Sponsorship levels and the current Sponsors.  Contact Ellen Genco at ellengenco@verizon.net with any Sponsorship questions.

Online Auction Needs YOUR Help!

The January 31st deadline to bring in your donations for the Online Auction is almost here!To date, only 50 families have brought in donations…  We have over 600  families at Franklin School!  We CAN do better!  The Auction is one of Franklin’s most vital sources of funds…  And it will not be a success without everyone’s contribution.  Please bring in your donations to the font office by January 31st.

We still need items in every category, especially:

  • Restaurants
  • Entertainment & Sports tickets/memorabilia
  • Kids’ Camps & Lessons
  • Parties — be creative and host a party with friends!  Contact Sumi Khatod with questions or if you need help brainstorming a party:  skhatod@yahoo.com

Please visit the PTA website to download a Donation Form and solicitation letter, and to learn about the top selling categories.

Franklin 2014 Online Auction Needs You!

This year the Auction runs from February 12 – 23, 2014. We are asking that every Franklin family obtain at least ONE great item for our Auction.  Keep reading to learn how ….

Franklin’s Auction is the 2nd largest fundraiser of the year! Last year, our Online Auction raised over $87,000, and we need your participation to make this year’s Auction another success!  As you do your holiday shopping, please remember the Franklin Auction! It’s as simple as asking for a donation when you are shopping, dining at a restaurant, getting your hair cut, or taking your kids to lessons and winter camps.

Here’s how to get started:

  • Download a donation form or pick one up at the Franklin front office.
  • Check out our tips on how to easily ask for a donation
  • If you’d like to email your contacts for donations, download our sample solicitation letter and customize it.
  • You can also donate directly online and click on “Donate an Item”. Someone from our Auction Committee will follow up with you if necessary.

Please drop-off donations (with completed Donation Forms) as soon as possible at the Franklin front office.  We must receive all donations by January 31, 2014. THANK YOU!
