3rd Graders Get a Local History Lesson

This month, Franklin third graders are visiting the Santa Monica History Museum next door to the Santa Monica Main Library. Highlights include a docent-led tour of Santa Monica's vibrant past, hands on "then and now" exhibits and the opportunity to build the Santa Monica of their dreams. Fun facts: not only was Shirley Temple born and raised here, but both Popeye and the Flexi Straw were invented on our shores. Thanks, Santa Monica History Museum and PTA for funding our trip!
