Program Events

Building community at Franklin is of utmost importance and to reach that goal, we host fun and informative events throughout the school year for our students, parents, and even the community at large.

BACK-TO-SCHOOL PICNIC

Come, catch up with all your Franklin Friends on September 20 from 5 - 7pm. Bring your picnic blanket & chairs to the Big Yard.

We even have an event entertainer to help keep your kids active while the grownups are mixing and mingling!

Campus Beautification

This is our chance to come together as a community and give some much needed TLC to every table, wall, and garden bed in our students' sacred learning space. They deserve a beautiful campus!

Join us on Saturday, October 27 at 9am while we work together to improve Franklin’s campus!

Family Movie Night

In the Spring, Franklin families hangout on the field with picnic dinners, blankets and chairs, and cozy up to enjoy a movie under the stars. It’s a fun way to reconnect with families and meet new ones!

Join us on Friday, May 2nd at sundown for a great movie as we wind down the school year.

Science Club

Monthly after-school Science Club Nights support the science curriculum taught in school. These events are free and bring in a wide range of scientific experts onto campus. Some highlights have included Professor Egghead, Pixar animators, and the California Science Center. Science Club also presents the Science Fair - all details to enter can be found here.

Check back for the Science Club event schedule soon!

Gardening Club

We are looking for you and your green thumbs to cultivate and grow this group and every plant and mind at Franklin! If you enjoy fresh air, getting your hands in the dirt, pollinators and project based teaching - consider sharing your love of the garden with our students! When it’s time for the kids to pick a bouquet or taste a school-grown salad, the fruits of your labor will be more than a successful crop of veggies and blooms! Ideas on how to better use our green spaces and assist our teachers with their classroom gardens are welcome.

Let us know if you are interested here!

Parent Education Seminars and Lectures

Franklin hosts 4 or 5 speakers and educational events for Franklin families throughout the school year. Topics of these free events include such important topics as parenting elementary-aged children, race and equality, anxiety, bullying, and technology.

Waste Warrior Program

Students, faculty, staff, and parents take part in the district-wide approach to minimize waste sent to landfills, save resources, serve as an educational tool and encourage project-based learning. Led by our Green Team, our lunch and snack waste collection has reached new heights with bins for liquids, compost/organic items, recycling, and landfill. Preserving bin space by stacking lunch trays and reducing food waste by recovering unopened/ uneaten food that is donated to the community. Learn More
