Library Update: Sportsmania Success!
Franklin Dad and LA Times sportswriter J. Brady McCollough gave an inspiring talk to interested students in the library during lunch recess on Thursday. Mr. McCollough discussed his origins as an avid reader and sports fan who discovered his love of journalism writing for his college newspaper. Since then, he has interviewed Michael Jordan, covered Michael Phelps at the London Olympics and been to countless games where he follows the “no cheering in the press box” rule. His favorite books from growing up, including Matt Christopher kids sports novels and the classic poem “Casey at the Bat,” are available on the Reading Club shelf in the library as part of Sportsmania month.
