Mile Club Needs Volunteers On Wednesdays

What is Mile Club?

This fun event is a favorite among the kiddos at Franklin where students earn one charm for running or walking 6 laps/ 1 mile.

When does it take place?

Every Wednesday from October through June during the 1st thru 5th graders’ lunch recess

What is required of the parent volunteer?

Volunteers will need to arrive by 12:05pm on Wednesdays to set up for the 1st graders' lunch. The commitment will last until 1:10pm when the fifth graders' lunch recess ends.

Volunteers will be responsible for setting up a large stand-up sign in the MPR and also to set out cones at the point of location for sticks and charms.

Besides fun, do the students receive anything?
Students receive a stick for each lap, and when they reach six laps/one mile they receive a charm. Students are not able to combine sticks nor keep sticks for the following week. To display their charms, students get one necklace if they are new to Mile Club. Many students will have necklaces from last year.

Does this volunteer opportunity interest you?

Great, you can sign up to help your student’s class here or be a core volunteer, helping out whenever you have time!

All parents must have participated in mandatory volunteer training, please contact the front office or Ms Hynding for another training opportunity.
