New Teacher Spotlight: Jamie Sharpe (McClung)

Hi Franklin Community!

I am thrilled to be joining the 3rd-grade team at Franklin this school year and am looking forward to building meaningful relationships with the community. I’ve been in SMMUSD for the past year at John Muir teaching Kindergarten. Prior to joining our district, I was teaching at The Willows Community School in Culver City teaching 1st, 2nd, and 5th grade. As a teacher, it is my goal to create a classroom environment where students' lived experiences are reflected in the curriculum, while teaching children about their moral and social responsibilities in the community. I enjoy watching students reach their full potential by fostering self-expression and encouraging critical thinking. In my free time, I am an avid traveler and outdoor enthusiast. I spend my free time with my family and dog hiking, camping, long-distance running, skiing, and at the beach. Thank you for welcoming me into your community! I feel so fortunate to be planting my roots into such a wonderful group of children, parents, and teachers!

Warmly,

Jamie Sharpe
