Campus Improvements Continue Along Montana, a Gift from the PTA

The PTA has generously been working on campus improvements and you probably have noticed some of the transformation. We are excited to share that the sunshade awnings over the lunch tables have been fixed, aligned, and reinforced. We worked with Franklin alumni, David Zhao, Eagle Scout from our community Troop 2, along with his family and fellow scouts who built our school's two new meditation benches. The PTA has added two new umbrellas and Little Free Library boxes. The Cafetorium walls have been primed in preparation for the new school mural and in the spring we will work with the Surfrider Foundation to establish a new garden.

That said, we are proud to share the final version of our new Franklin mural. The artist worked hard to incorporate all of the directives in the creative brief and the multiple versions of feedback from parents, teachers, administration, and staff. Beginning in the next few weeks, the walls of the Cafetorium will be transformed. Our muralist from Beautify Earth, Sel Blanco, is ready to get to work. Sel is quite familiar with Franklin as he designed and painted the handball courts, the PE office, and the area outside the lunch tables.

The mural is truly a gift from the PTA for our entire community, representing our school's core values. In this design, we intend to showcase Ben Franklin, his inventions, and how they are represented in the present day. It is a new, fresh, updated, and modernized look. So when you drive by school, please take a look at the progress.

We are looking forward to this refreshed space and are excited to unveil it to our community.
