CA State PTA Supports Several Props and Measures this Election!

Vote Yes on Measure QS this November!

This school facilities bond measure will provide the funds needed to complete multiple repairs, improvements, and building projects throughout the district. Here is a list of the priority projects, including those at our own campus!

Many of these projects are ready to go, some as early as December 2024. Several projects have already been designed, submitted to the state architecture agency, completed environmental review, and await this important funding to begin.

There is a broad coalition of supporters, including our Classroom Teachers Association, parents, the Santa Monica-Malibu Council of PTAs, the League of Women Voters, local small business owners, seniors, stakeholders, the Santa Monica City Council, and the Santa Monica-Malibu School Board, all say: YES on MEASURE QS.

PLEASE NOTE: your ballots have been printed with options for both Measure QS in Santa Monica and Measure MM in Malibu. Please ONLY vote for QS! Santa Monicans cannot vote for MM. This mistake was due to a printing error by Los Angeles County. 

California State PTA also supports the following propositions on the ballot:

Prop 2 authorizes $10 billion in statewide funding for public schools and community colleges. Public schools get $8.5B, CCs get $1.5B.

Prop 3 supports amending the State Constitution to recognize the right to marry, regardless of sex or race. The Proposition would remove language stating that marriage is between a "man and a woman."

Prop 4 supports $10 billion in a bond measure for climate change.

Prop 5 allows for bond measures to pass for affordable housing with a 55% vote in the state government, rather than a 2/3 vote, in order to speed up the process of allocating funding for much-needed housing.
