PTA’s DEIA Team Prompts Inclusion on Campus

This week, our PTA's DEIA team (Diversity, Equity, Inclusion & Accessibility) and helpful community hosted our second Inclusive recess and it was once again, such a joyful experience! Our general education students buddied up with their peers from the social skills classroom for a designated playground time to learn how to be and play with one another.  The Inclusive recess follows a classroom ability awareness workshop conducted by a specialist from Inclusion Matters, in which students walk through their beliefs and assumptions about disabilities, while preparing them for interaction with their peers with differences . This opportunity helps students promote inclusion on the school campus, so that we can all have fun together and learn from each other.
